Testing took place under the technical supervision of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Sespel has completed another stage in the development of its tank equipment business: the full production cycle of a T75 tank container for refrigerated liquefied gases. The project covered development, design, manufacture and acceptance testing under the technical supervision of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Purpose and applications

The new tank container is designed for safe domestic and international transport by road, rail, sea and inland waterways. It supports loading and unloading operations and temporary storage of Class 2 refrigerated liquefied gases, specifically nitrogen, argon, methane and oxygen.

Chapter 3.2 of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, Amendment 40-20 (IMDG Code 40-20), specifies the T75 tank type for these cargoes. Sespel’s new product meets this designation. It opens access to the cryogenic transport segment, where equipment must meet especially demanding requirements for safety, leak tightness and temperature resistance.

What this means for the company

Developing T75 tank containers is an important step in expanding Sespel’s cryogenic equipment range. The company previously completed the development and testing of a T14 tank container for highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide. It is now moving to a new level of complexity: cryogenic media stored below −180 °C.

Congratulations to everyone who managed, designed, manufactured, tested, inspected and supported this project. The sky is the limit!
