State Duma member Anatoly Aksakov explores Sespel’s technological capabilities

Sespel welcomed State Duma member Anatoly Gennadyevich Aksakov. Guests were shown the plant’s own friction stir welding machines and prototype hybrid and electric wheel loaders. A meeting focused on aluminium orthotropic profiles for bridges and electric bus bodies, an important area for import substitution in transport engineering.
On 29 April 2026, Anatoly Gennadyevich Aksakov, a member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, paid a working visit to Sespel. The visit introduced him to the company’s production facilities and innovative developments in metalworking and mechanical engineering.
During the workshop tour, the delegation was shown key technological assets, including friction stir welding (FSW) machines developed and manufactured entirely in-house. This equipment produces high-strength permanent joints, which are essential for critical structures.
Guests also saw prototype hybrid and fully electric wheel loaders, a promising product line combining environmental performance with productivity. These developments are undergoing testing and attracting interest from potential customers in logistics and construction.
The meeting paid particular attention to Sespel’s aluminium orthotropic profiles. Participants discussed their use in lightweight aluminium bridges, electric bus bodies and other urban transport vehicles. This approach significantly reduces structural weight without compromising load-bearing capacity, saving fuel and energy.
Aksakov’s visit demonstrated the strong interest of federal authorities in domestic metalworking and transport engineering developments. Sespel’s management expressed its readiness for further cooperation through import substitution programmes and the development of the region’s innovative industrial base.
