Sespel ships Russia’s first C14L21RS aluminium tank containers

Russia’s first Sespel C14L21RS aluminium tank containers have been dispatched to a customer for transporting nitric acid and other dangerous goods. They will be used to fulfil contracts with Russia’s largest chemical corporation.
The aluminium alloy tank containers are a distinctive development by Cheboksary Enterprise Sespel CJSC. They open up new opportunities for the safe transport of chemicals and other aggressive substances.
The tank shell is made from aluminium alloy supplied by the Samara Metallurgical Plant, ensuring high corrosion resistance and structural durability.
The container vessel is welded using friction stir welding (FSW). This process reduces manufacturing labour, eliminates weld defects and enables welding automation.
The next step in the development of Sespel’s aluminium tank container range will be a model for transporting hydrogen peroxide, opening up new applications in the chemical, defence and aerospace industries.
