Sespel gantry machine for milling and friction stir welding
The machine forms part of a system for milling and friction stir welding aluminium alloy tank structures.
The system comprises three machines- For longitudinal seam welding
- For meridional and circular seam welding
- For circumferential seam welding of cylindrical vessels
Welding thicknesses range from 2 to 30 mm. The gantry machine has two rotary tables with load capacities of up to 80 tonnes. Its main advantages are high machining accuracy, the ability to process complex parts and high productivity. Optional equipment can be added to suit customer requirements, further extending its functionality and efficiency.
