On 1 July 2026, Sespel’s second production site welcomed distinguished guests: Albert Anvarovich Karimov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Marat Rifkatovich Yakushev, Minister of Industry and Energy of the Chuvash Republic. The visit provided an introduction to the region’s industrial capabilities and the company’s advanced developments.
During the working visit, the guests were shown the plant’s key technological achievements. Particular attention was paid to Sespel’s proprietary friction stir welding (FSW) machines. Several of their specifications have no equivalent in Russia, and the equipment is widely used in aerospace, shipbuilding and transport.
The company also presented prototype electric and hybrid wheel loaders developed by its engineers. These machines demonstrate a transition to environmentally friendly powertrains and could provide a basis for renewing industrial and construction equipment fleets.
A separate part of the programme showcased the plant’s capabilities in manufacturing aluminium bodies from extruded profiles. This technology produces lightweight, strong and durable structures for road and rail transport, which are particularly in demand as energy efficiency and payload requirements become more stringent.
The Deputy Minister highlighted Sespel’s diverse areas of expertise:- In-house machine tool engineering: the development and production of CNC welding and milling systems.
- Machining and welding of aluminium alloys, including the distinctive FSW process.
- Manufacture of semi-trailers, tankers, silos and storage vessels for the chemical, oil and gas industries.
- Production of electric motors and hybrid powertrains for specialised equipment.
- Construction of aluminium bridges and infrastructure.
Albert Anvarovich emphasised that these capabilities enable the company to contribute actively to import substitution across dozens of fields, significantly strengthening cooperation between industries and the country’s technological independence. He praised the organisation of production and expressed confidence in the plant’s continued growth.
The visit concluded with discussions of promising projects and potential government support measures to scale up Sespel’s innovative developments for Russian and international markets.
