D. B. Yeroshok, a member of the Russian Engineering Union’s bureau, paid a working visit to Cheboksary Enterprise Sespel CJSC, a member of the union. The company specialises in manufacturing and supplying semi-trailers and tankers for cement, flour, petrol, crude oil, bitumen, water, animal feed and chemicals, as well as tipping tankers. Since 2014, it has pursued import substitution and localisation of production in the Russian Federation.

Under an instruction issued by the Government of the Russian Federation on 23 November 2023, Cheboksary Enterprise Sespel CJSC was tasked with exploring how to scale up production of tanks for transporting liquefied gases cooled to cryogenic temperatures.

The company has designed a broad range of steel and aluminium alloy tank containers. These include T50 LPG tank containers made from low-alloy steel for transporting liquefied hydrocarbon gases, petroleum gas, propane and butane; and T75 LNG tank containers made from aluminium for transporting liquefied natural gas and temporarily storing refrigerated liquefied gases of hazard class 2.

T50 and T75 tank containers:
  • Comply with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping’s Rules for the Manufacture of Containers and are Russian-made products.
  • Are suitable for road, rail, sea and inland waterway transport. Their mobility reduces transport costs: transferring between modes does not require unloading or transferring the contents.

High standards of safety and environmental performance are achieved through new manufacturing technologies and automation. A distinctive feature is the use of in-house welding systems for hybrid laser welding and friction stir welding.

The meeting concluded with an agreement on strategic cooperation across the full product range of Cheboksary Enterprise Sespel CJSC.
