The equipment uses friction stir welding (FSW) to manufacture blanks for air and liquid coolers. After welding, the blanks are milled into finished products of the specified dimensions.

Coolers can measure up to 1,200 mm long, 1,000 mm wide and 300 mm high. These dimensions support the production of coolers for various applications, including industrial and domestic use.

The FSW cooler welding system has an elongated, rigid welded bed carrying a table and a gantry with a welding unit. This construction provides high stability and precision during welding.

The welding unit consists of a transverse slide, a carriage that presses the tool against the workpiece and a spindle assembly. This ensures precise tool positioning and high-quality welds.

The machine table has T-slots for conveniently securing fixtures carrying cooler blanks. Workpieces are clamped to the fixtures manually, providing flexibility and straightforward setup for specific tasks.

Friction stir welding avoids defects associated with conventional welding, such as porosity and cracks, and produces strong, leak-tight joints.

Sespel equipment demonstrates advanced engineering and technological capabilities, making it a reliable tool for series production of coolers.
